Mind On The World

Twelve A.M. and I am sitting down on this floor.
Got a pencil in my hand and my mind on the world.
I’m gunna write down these words and burn a hole in this paper.
I’ll let out blood sweat and tears until there’s something to play for the world.
All these people in this world with their eyes and their ears closed
Block out what they don’t know when there’s nowhere to go.
We are creatures of our tried and true.
We’re always staying the same.
We’re never trying the new.
We are afraid of change.
So I’ll sing this song for the people of the world
That are planning. Planning to right the wrong
And take these words to start up a fire and watch as
It burns all over the world.
Yes I’ll play this song for the people of the world
That are planning. Planning to stand up strong
And take these dreams to start up a fire and watch as
It gleams in the eyes of the world.
We’ve got to take a look at each other and see
What the other man sees.
It’s not that hard to lead a different life.
Let down your guard and set down that knife
And be what’s right.
We’ve got to love each other.
We must embrace each other.
Understand what the other man dreams
Weave together your seams!

Unhappiness
05:39

I sing songs of unhappiness
While my days are filled with ignorant bliss
Some people live every day never thinking what it is like
To live a life riddled with so much torment and strife
I sing songs of people I miss
Though I start each day with a new lover’s kiss
So much of this world just turns and never thinks twice
Spend money, get paid, get laid. Who cares what’s right?
I can’t escape the sadness.
Like the night it falls on me
Take me away from madness
Life’s too sweet to seem incomplete
I sing songs of unhappiness
While my days are filled with ignorant bliss
Some people live every day never thinking what it is like
To live a life riddled with so much torment and strife
Then the pain takes over
Like a sickness inside of me
It weighs down my shoulders
The heaviness of society
Don’t hurt me. Don’t use me. Leave me.
Don’t make me my own enemy
Don’t kill me. Don’t leave me bleeding.
I’m screaming let go. I can’t breathe.

We Are Not Free
03:23
|

Sunlight creeps through the blinds
Illuminating emptiness in a queen bed
The TV’s on. It captures a mind
Keeps it in a box with walls made of lead
Talking heads ramble on
Ten thousand words are spoken yet, nothings said
A soft wind blows, the sound of chimes
The mouths move on. On and on at record time
We Are Not Free.
We Cannot Be.
People scream. People shout.
They wont stop until the guns are set down
Fighting strong, standing out
Somehow justice never seems to come around
We Are Not Free.
We Cannot Be.
